Halloween CakeI have always wanted to do one of those so I finally did.<br />
<br />
Start with 3 graduated boxes.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicX1_BZQSSjb97pPfsFWHu2ATGfw5Ffv0zcoc3ImebHypvAnEo_dSC-tySMunTePdHuuN-is5GxKxZKwF0u_7F4x5j0XnWNPzCoxq27CLssdjtPTHnX4WZIubPXxTXK78XkMUHoUVcDzU/s1600/IMG_4412.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicX1_BZQSSjb97pPfsFWHu2ATGfw5Ffv0zcoc3ImebHypvAnEo_dSC-tySMunTePdHuuN-is5GxKxZKwF0u_7F4x5j0XnWNPzCoxq27CLssdjtPTHnX4WZIubPXxTXK78XkMUHoUVcDzU/s320/IMG_4412.jpg" width="240" /></a></div> Measure the boxes. I use a dress makers measuring tape.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKE6IsYHjCgrU_7G_gbOERLEnSkLVz1kVpCXZOHHZZFfXm5Tw_BLLjKYWZpluqW4wY_cqd9A9hlQHzENkqXDNjiutO8Vtw5L5OiOxRVKq-uPFGayCzT84KqqeMf9zg5QE8kqGgjpgKp5Y/s1600/IMG_4441.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKE6IsYHjCgrU_7G_gbOERLEnSkLVz1kVpCXZOHHZZFfXm5Tw_BLLjKYWZpluqW4wY_cqd9A9hlQHzENkqXDNjiutO8Vtw5L5OiOxRVKq-uPFGayCzT84KqqeMf9zg5QE8kqGgjpgKp5Y/s320/IMG_4441.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6jZug4JuxfU1DgMV8L3XauuFndx9J6tBxlvpNtxRlE2Yiixb9uNTsXHEFGoqo9BEHrHHeALoRwzyR_mM4YznBLuhyphenhyphenMQerFL8AqjklVz33sWHW164wF39r42pc_Fm6uUud-KlsdeJaawY/s1600/IMG_4442.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6jZug4JuxfU1DgMV8L3XauuFndx9J6tBxlvpNtxRlE2Yiixb9uNTsXHEFGoqo9BEHrHHeALoRwzyR_mM4YznBLuhyphenhyphenMQerFL8AqjklVz33sWHW164wF39r42pc_Fm6uUud-KlsdeJaawY/s320/IMG_4442.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>Next cut your paper. I use my Gypsy to cut circles for round boxes.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAjXu3msNZ10NWJ4wftMqKEl2LLuYaWOJHhV73pkkvx2fE3YR96dmZh9AvIH_DXrxts03iQzov19ijPTehbScQHnM5xS_dE-_CI9pfb89aIPXBxhyM3XJMTDojDlKgHlLfVxu2agLgwpM/s1600/IMG_4416.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAjXu3msNZ10NWJ4wftMqKEl2LLuYaWOJHhV73pkkvx2fE3YR96dmZh9AvIH_DXrxts03iQzov19ijPTehbScQHnM5xS_dE-_CI9pfb89aIPXBxhyM3XJMTDojDlKgHlLfVxu2agLgwpM/s320/IMG_4416.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
It is almost impossible to get a round top exact. You can either cut it a little larger and sand or trim it to fit or you can paint the top and side of the lid to match your paper.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMb8seo2gHt0LH2u0XCxhnkXbKDBte9UzdAxDgD7ZwiR4M5hRgK0BKzgoSxL55VsMkmHTnehkf1J_8QIWV71YZwIHYHOSmsg-GMzO6qyRaB4MvhFlIGgZVGhzkosWtXH20mi3mVLT5wiA/s1600/IMG_4419.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMb8seo2gHt0LH2u0XCxhnkXbKDBte9UzdAxDgD7ZwiR4M5hRgK0BKzgoSxL55VsMkmHTnehkf1J_8QIWV71YZwIHYHOSmsg-GMzO6qyRaB4MvhFlIGgZVGhzkosWtXH20mi3mVLT5wiA/s320/IMG_4419.jpg" width="320" /> </a></div><br />
Apply your paper using your preferred adhesive. I use Mod Podge. I spread it on the back of the paper instead of on the box itself. I place the back piece on first then the front allowing for some over lap. Apply the paper on the sides with the lid on and line it up to the bottom of the box.<br />
<br />
I do not put paper under the lid because it makes it too tight. Usually there is some gap left.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikS-F1O2-3DxNjZueX1tnXoZpBcIsyQAb0GvZSjkfBVrQfIhovz07q2ckjL7Z23SkPb3XuVtVBgfVf4trEuy1pfm0meRUCvKD5YOosB_gz-tGsST5kclN9K-MvpmvylNGCVZLVgezPurU/s1600/IMG_4417.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikS-F1O2-3DxNjZueX1tnXoZpBcIsyQAb0GvZSjkfBVrQfIhovz07q2ckjL7Z23SkPb3XuVtVBgfVf4trEuy1pfm0meRUCvKD5YOosB_gz-tGsST5kclN9K-MvpmvylNGCVZLVgezPurU/s320/IMG_4417.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><br />
I cover this with another piece of paper or in this case ribbon. Again the top is on the box and this time I line up my product to the edge of the lid concealing any gaps.<br />
<br />
Here is the finished product.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmnG85RrjJVCfIVYFEWkW-tFwDjPZpnLWjjnkTo3KCMOz4ATxLd28bprPVJPm38zd0apDfbtulp6dVfuCFpjJti8x1XvxdxBkJgNYkJ-hfgleV9zVZeiUzjRnTCKU9bGFlo-dcUd7Dr6w/s1600/IMG_4428.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmnG85RrjJVCfIVYFEWkW-tFwDjPZpnLWjjnkTo3KCMOz4ATxLd28bprPVJPm38zd0apDfbtulp6dVfuCFpjJti8x1XvxdxBkJgNYkJ-hfgleV9zVZeiUzjRnTCKU9bGFlo-dcUd7Dr6w/s320/IMG_4428.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><br />
Isn't it Bootiful?<br />

<br />
Where did my blog name come from? Seven years ago there was a LSS in town and several of us met there to crop. As many LSS's it closed and left us with no place to crop. About that time I moved into my husband's parents home and claimed a large space for my scraproom and crop space. The store closed and we bought tables and started meeting at my house. Seven years later we have been together longer than the LSS was open!<br />
<br />
We all went to CKU and wanted a group name and thus we became The Cherokee Croppers because the name of my road is Cherokee. And I live in the an area of the country which is home to the Cherokee Nation's Eastern Band. And...like a lot of us here, I am part Cherokee. So it was a natural and probably the easiest part of creating this blog.Marciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12741936534102921965noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4078183799444406512.post-51898240264809893822010-09-26T13:54:00.000-04:002010-09-26T13:54:17.885-04:00Trick or Treat for Charity<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnet95reksNzF3pToa4o6lBXZLXr6Rj_UO3aJFVSbnntU29Z9t-B_QVDz0VXNRnULFaVBGQ6lzfyrCZLi7-15LBH5xmtxPrCPiE8CCH-LI1aR1vKgWjo9POwYiz-KuYqQ_MAqVmEiDey0/s1600/IMG_4398.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnet95reksNzF3pToa4o6lBXZLXr6Rj_UO3aJFVSbnntU29Z9t-B_QVDz0VXNRnULFaVBGQ6lzfyrCZLi7-15LBH5xmtxPrCPiE8CCH-LI1aR1vKgWjo9POwYiz-KuYqQ_MAqVmEiDey0/s320/IMG_4398.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>Each year we have a charity drive for state employees.
